What is Social Listening?
Social listening is the process of monitoring social media platforms for mentions of your brand, competitors, or industry keywords across posts you weren’t tagged in, hashtags, and caption keywords. It captures the full picture of what’s being said about you online, not just the content you’re directly notified about.
For influencer marketers and DTC brands, this is game-changing.
Most brands only see a fraction of the creator content mentioning them. Social listening surfaces all of it automatically.
🚨 Now live in Click Analytic: Social Listening is available on all current plans and free trials. No additional setup needed just click Listen in the sidebar.
Why Brand Mentions Matter
Every time a creator posts about your brand with or without a paid deal that’s a brand mention. And every brand mention is a data point you should be capturing.
✅ Creators already posting about you organically are your best potential partners
✅ Brand mentions generate reach and engagement you’re not currently measuring
✅ Tracking mentions gives you an Earned Media Value, the dollar equivalent of that organic reach
✅ Monitoring competitor brand mentions tells you who’s working with them and what’s resonating
Example of an organic brand mention: @eirunneba tags @rhode naturally in her caption, generating 15,690 views without any paid deal, see below 👇

How to Set Up a Social Listening: Step by Step
Social Listening in Click Analytic is built around Monitors.
What are monitors in Social Listening? It’s campaigns you set up once, and that automatically scan Instagram or TikTok for brand mentions matching your criteria.
Here’s how to get started 👇
1 Go to Listen → New Monitor Click Listen in the left sidebar, then hit + New Monitor.
Give it a name, for example, “Brand Monitor April 2026”.

2 Choose your platform
Select Instagram or TikTok.
You can also run both at the same time, each platform is scanned independently.
3 Define what to track
Add up to 2 of each:
Brand mentions (e.g. @yourbrand)
Keywords that appear in captions
Hashtags
You can track your brand, a campaign name, a product, or a competitor.
See below a screenshot of the social listening campaign menu ⬇️

⚠️ Important: the total number of posts selected is divided equally across all your tracking parameters. For example, if you add 2 mentions and 2 keywords and select 100 posts, each parameter gets 25 posts scanned (100 ÷ 4). Choose your parameters carefully to make the most of your scan.
4 Choose how many posts to scan
Select from 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1,000 recent posts.
The tool always scans the most recent posts matching your terms first.
5 Launch, results in minutes
Click Create Monitor.
Within minutes, your monitor auto-populates with creators, content, and full performance metrics. No manual work required. You should see the status of your monitor change from “Scanning” to “Completed” within a few minutes.

Once your monitor completes, you get three tabs: Creators, Content, and Metrics.
Each one gives you a different angle on your brand mention data.
Let’s review each in details 👇
